Trump: Iran Must Fully Give In Before Any Peace”

U.S. President Donald Trump has declared there will be no peace deal or agreement with Iran unless the Iranian government agrees to “unconditional surrender,” a maximalist war objective amid an expanding conflict in the Middle East. Trump posted this position on his social media platform Truth Social, making clear that no diplomatic compromise will be pursued under current conditions. See more…

Trump said that only after Iran’s unconditional surrender and the selection of a “great and acceptable leader” would the United States and its allies help rebuild Iran’s economy and infrastructure, aiming to make the country “bigger, better, and stronger than ever before.” He also stressed that Iran “will have a bright future” if it capitulates to these terms.

The statement comes as a war between the U.S., Israel, and Iran has entered a seventh day, triggered by the U.S.-Israeli strikes that killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei earlier in the conflict. The operation, reportedly called “Operation Epic Fury”, has seen intense airstrikes, Iranian missile and drone attacks, and mounting regional instability.

While Trump has ruled out negotiations without full Iranian surrender, Iranian officials have rejected calls for a cease-fire and expressed their readiness to defend the country, including the possibility of a U.S. ground invasion. Mediation efforts by unnamed countries have been reported, but Tehran has so far declined to enter diplomatic talks.

The conflict’s wider impacts include expanded fighting involving Hezbollah in Lebanon and significant civilian casualties in the region, contributing to global concern and economic repercussions such as rising oil prices. Trump’s stance marks a significant hardening of U.S. policy toward Iran and heightens fears of a prolonged and broader war.
