It is with profound sadness that the family of Tatiana Celia Kennedy Schlossberg has confirmed she died on December 30, 2025, at just 35 years old. The announcement, shared by the John F. Tatiana, the daughter of Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg and granddaughter of President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, was an accomplished environmental journalist and author known for her thoughtful reporting on climate, science, and society. She had contributed to major publications and authored Inconspicuous Consumption, a well‑regarded book on environmental impact.
In November 2025, she courageously revealed in a poignant essay in The New Yorker that she had been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia—a rare, aggressive form of blood cancer first detected shortly after the birth of her second child in May 2024. Despite undergoing chemotherapy, bone marrow transplants, and clinical trials, the disease proved relentless.
Tatiana’s words in that essay revealed her deep love for her family and her wrenching struggle with her prognosis—“my first thought was that my kids … wouldn’t remember me”—and her commitment to living each moment fully even in the face of such devastating news.
She leaves behind her husband, George Moran, and their two young children, as well as her parents and siblings. Her passing is a heartbreaking loss not only for her family but for all who admired her courage, intellect, and spirit.
