Schloss was arrested by the Nazis during World War II and deported to Auschwitz, where she endured brutal and inhumane conditions. Several members of her family were killed during the Holocaust, while she survived one of the darkest chapters in human history.

After the war, her mother married Otto Frank, Anne Frankโ€™s father, making Eva Schloss part of the Frank family. Unlike Anne, Eva survived the camps and later felt a lifelong responsibility to speak on behalf of those who did not survive.

For decades, Eva Schloss was a tireless Holocaust educator and human rights advocate, speaking to students and audiences around the world. Her passing marks the loss of a vital witness to history, but her message of remembrance, tolerance, and peace will continue to endure.
